Still never figured out the Frenzel. I can valsalva by plugging my nose with my upper lip. It works better for skydiving than freediving.
valsalva is limited to shallow depth. you're gonna have to transition to frenzel anyway. better start learning frenzel right away

Only people who are negatively buoyant can do this. Vast majority of them are men. The trick is figuring out how to get these people to float. They are the WORST to get partnered with in lifeguard class!!

That's not a good thing, good thing is the breath hold which allows body to replenish the CO2, this allows body to use the O2 more efficiently, you'll find you oxygen levels more balanced after doing this.
you reap.more benefits from breathholding WITHOUT prior hyperventilation. The bohr effect (which describes how efficiently your body uses oxygen) is maximized on on breathhold WITHOUT prior hyperventilating. please watch my Playlist WIM HOF
@@gertleroy I tried both things and still do, however I find Wim's method more effective at longer holds without discomfort.
@@kartikaytiwari7387 off course the WHM results in less discomfort. that's the whole idea behind hyperventilation. but it's not the right way to condition your body. you're getting used to lower co2, whereas lomg term health benefits come from higher co2. please watch my 35min live video in my wim hof Playlist where I explain all of this
